GLOSSARY
National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) - the association of insurance commissioners of various states, formed to promote national uniformity in the regulation of insurance.
Non-participating policies (non-par) - insurance that does not pay dividends.
Non-Preferred Providers - providers who have not contracted with a particular insurer to be a part of any of its networks. Non-preferred providers often charge members more that allowable amounts.
Nonforfeiture values - those values of money in a Life insurance policy that the owner does not forfeit even if he/she ceases to pay premiums.
Nonmedical - insurance issued without a medical examination.
Nonrenewal - when an insurer terminates a policy on the anniversary or renewal date.
